Sunday Hunting in Frederick County - Immediate Action Needed!

 Hi Friends,

I am writing this to you as fellow Frederick County horse owners.  There is pending legislation in Annapolis that wants to allow Sunday hunting during deer season from October through mid-February.  Things are happening fast and furious and needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY.  We are all aware of the problems that have arisen from so many deer - crop damage and traffic issues to name a few but there are ways that this can be accomplished without giving up the one day a week that folks can safely be out in the woods and open fields.  This affects not only us as riders but hikers, bikers, bird watchers and family outings.

We need an all out email campaign NOW from everyone in Frederick County. The email needs to say the following:

We support expanding methods to reduce the deer population EXCEPT for hunting on Sundays. We support extending the season, more managed and sharpshooter hunts, and even creating a commercial market for harvested wild venison…we just do not support doing so on Sundays. Period. Not in Maryland, and certainly not in Frederick County.

Please feel free to write you own email, add to the thoughts above or just copy and paste what is there and send it on to the two folks listed below.  Also if you know other county folks who this legislation could apply to please forward this on to them along with your horse friends.

Don't worry about bill numbers. There are WAY too many bill numbers to worry about. Just make the statement…no Sundays. Period. Everything else (extend season, etc.), just no Sundays.

Emails need to go NOW from Fred. County folks to the following two people, and by now, I mean tonight and tomorrow morning. Otherwise, Frederick County is going to have WAY more days of Sunday, and horse people won't be able to use the land from October until the spring.

And heck, if you can throw in there that you don't like the fact that the Fred. County Senators tacked this on as an amendment without discussing with the residents of Frederick County, please do so.
